How to notarize a Unity build for MacOs 10.15 Catalina

How to notarize a Unity build for macOs 10.15 Catalina

As of January 2020, all apps running on macOs 10.15 Catalina are required to be notarized. For Unity games distributed outside the Mac App Store, such as with Steam, the notarization process is done post build using a series of Xcode command line tools.

Prerequisites

  • a Mac that is compatible with macOs 10.15 Catalina :
    • MacBook (2015 or newer)
    • MacBook Air (2012 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (2012 or newer)

Making Panic's Developer ColorPicker (DeveloperColorPicker.colorPicker) work in macOS BigSur & macOS Catalina

Context

Panic's Developer ColorPicker (v1.5.4) does not work in macOS Catalina or macOS BigSur. This is due to enforcement of code-signing. Until Panic releases a newer version that supports Catalina/BigSur, below is the workaround.

Prerequisite

You need a Developer Account. This could be a free account. Refer: https://9to5mac.com/2016/03/27/how-to-create-free-apple-developer-account-sideload-apps/

Re-implementation of @binding and @State (from SwiftUI) myself to better understand it
/*:
This is a concept re-implementation of the @Binding and @State property wrappers from SwiftUI
The only purpose of this code is to implement those wrappers myself
just to understand how they work internally and why they are needed,
⚠️ This is not supposed to be a reference implementation nor cover all
subtleties of the real Binding and State types.
The only purpose of this playground is to show how re-implementing
them myself has helped me understand the whole thing better

Execute lldb command and open its output in Kaleidoscope diff

Diff output of two lldb commands

Setup

  1. Copy the contents of the last snippet (lldbinit) from the gist page, and paste into your .lldbinit file. This makes the ksdiff macro known inside lldb.
  2. Put file ksdiff.py in ~/.lldb/
  3. sudo pip install temp
  4. Restart Xcode debug session

Example

(lldb) ksdiff ;

import UIKit
import CoreServices
import ImageIO
class Writer {
let output = NSTemporaryDirectory().appending("output.heic")
lazy var outputUrl: CFURL = {
return URL(fileURLWithPath: output) as CFURL
}()
