Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Custom recipe to get OS X 10.10 Yosemite running from scratch, setup applications and developer environment. I use this gist to keep track of the important software and steps required to have a functioning system after a semi-annual fresh install. On average, I reinstall each computer from scratch every 6 months, and I do not perform upgrades between distros.

This keeps the system performing at top speeds, clean of trojans, spyware, and ensures that I maintain good organizational practices for my content and backups. I highly recommend this.

You are encouraged to fork this and modify it to your heart's content to match your own needs.

Install Software

# -*- encoding : utf-8 -*-
class Domain < ActiveRecord::Base
after_save :reload_routes
def reload_routes
if self.domain_changed?
REDIS.set("rails_routes_ts", "expired")
end
end
namespace :deploy do
task :setup_solr_data_dir do
run "mkdir -p #{shared_path}/solr/data"
end
end
namespace :solr do
desc "start solr"
task :start, :roles => :app, :except => { :no_release => true } do
run "cd #{current_path} && RAILS_ENV=#{rails_env} bundle exec sunspot-solr start --port=8983 --data-directory=#{shared_path}/solr/data --pid-dir=#{shared_path}/pids"

Here are some things you can do with Gists in GistBox.
// Use Gists to store code you would like to remember later on
console.log(window); // log the "window" object to the console
# to generate your dhparam.pem file, run in the terminal
openssl dhparam -out /etc/nginx/ssl/dhparam.pem 2048
var cfg = require('../config').Config,
qs = require('querystring'),
request = require('request');
request = request.defaults({jar: true})
exports.awesome = function(req, res){
headers = {};
mkdir -p /usr/local/etc/nginx/sites-{enabled,available}
