Unlike using VMWare Tools to enable Linux guest capabilities, the open-vm-tools
package doesn't auto-mount shared VMWare folders. This can be frustrating in various ways, but there's an easy fix.
Install open-vm-tools
and run:
sudo mount -t fuse.vmhgfs-fuse .host:/ /mnt/hgfs -o allow_other

To sign Git commits, you need a gpg key. GPG stands for GNU Privacy Guard and is the de facto implementation of the OpenPGP message format. PGP stands for ‘Pretty Good Privacy’ and is a standard to sign and encrypt messages.
Install with Homebrew:
