How to fix a USB drive showing up as two drives (fragmented into multiple partitions) on Windows

How to fix a USB drive showing up as two drives (fragmented into multiple partitions) on Windows:

  1. Hold the Windows key and press X, select PowerShell (Admin), select Yes to the pop-up. You can also use Command Prompt.
  2. In the Powershell interface type diskpart to enter the disk partition tool.
  3. Type list disk to see all disks listed.
  4. Select the USB drive by typing select disk [NUMBER]. Be careful to select the correct drive.
  5. Type clean. An error will occur if you have the drive folder open, close the window and repeat the command if this happens.
  6. Type create partition primary.
  7. Type format fs=ntfs quick to format the drive (you can also choose to set fs=fat32).
  8. Type active.

Proxmox VE - Backup Cluster config (pmxcfs) - /etc/pve

Backup

A no-nonsense way to safely backup your /etc/pve files (pmxcfs) [^CFS] is actually very simple:

sqlite3 /var/lib/pve-cluster/config.db .dump > ~/config.dump.$(date --utc +%Z%Y%m%d%H%M%S).sql

Thought I should post my guide on how to do this, as I've struggled with this for quite some time now. I wanted something to bypass the NAT/router as I did not have the option of port-forwarding. I will also be moving quite some in the upcoming year, so dynamic IP was almost a given. And obviously I wanted it to be cheap. This does it all.

This is free, no port-forwarding required and no static IP required. Wildcard domain and SSL certificate supported. It works with Cloudflare tunnels, Cloudflare DNS, Nginx Proxy Manager and obviously TrueNAS SCALE.

I am not a professional, if you see a flaw in this design, please let me know!

Requirements:

  • Domain name at Cloudflare

OPNsense + ProtonVPN + Wireguard Configuration Guide

OPNsense + ProtonVPN + Wireguard

Published: 16 December 2022

Reference: https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/wireguard-selective-routing.html

Goal: Set up one or more Wireguard connections from ProtonVPN on OPNsense, with policy based routing, and optional Killswitch.

I'm writing this guide first as a reference for my future self for when I inevitably forget how to do this, but also to help others out. I found there were not many guides on this specific configuration, particularly not with multiple concurrent connections, and these were some steps which were not at all obvious. I did begin with the guide in the official OPNsense documentation, but even that was missing info to make ProtonVPN work. If you are a pfSense user, it is very similar to OPNsense, and you should be able to follow along with some success, but I have not tested it myself.
