- Your Strengths: what makes you the "hero" of this story?
- If you took StrengthsFinder, reflect on how developing your strengths at Turing has influenced your story
- How have you grown at Turing? What obstacles have you overcome?
- Didn't know anything about coding when I got here and now I know several things about coding
- What turning points led you to make this career change?
- I decided I didn't want to pursue a career in geology and I wanted to learn a valuable skill
- What does your third act look like? How does transitioning to this career bring some closure to this narrative arc?
- I get a job that is challenging and enjoyable and allows me to support myself financially
- Describe causality -- what made you want to make this career change? How is it grounded in your character?
- I wanted to learn a marketable skill that would allow me to pursue opportunities in different places

| I want to make an app where a user can create an account, add their favorite books, and then click on a book to get a recommendation | |
| on what they should read next. I also want them to be able to make multiple selections to get a recommendation based on multiple books. |
I wanted to keep improving my Javascript muscle memory, learn more about Node and how to use it to set up projects, get more comfortable with my GitHub workflow, get a handle on React, and start adapting more of a test-driven development mindset.

What are you doing well as a pair programmer and collaborator? How do you use your strengths as a team member?
- I try to be aware of my partners' strengths and weaknesses, while also making them aware of my own strengths and weaknesses. This way, we can figure out an approach that takes advantage of our strengths while helping each other improve our weaknesses.
-
How would you like to continue to develop your strengths?
- I want to keep listening to feedback from my partners so that I can adjust my work style and make myself a more effective team member.
-
What would you like to improve on as a teammate?
-
I think I need to get better at articulating my ideas more clearly. Sometimes I can't get my idea across very well without actually writing the code that I'm trying to describe.
-
Project management strategies
- I definitely took a mostly agile approach to my projects this mod. I like to start by making sure that I know exactly what my requirements are and what I'm expected to deliver, and I will have a general plan for how I want to accomplish my goals, but I almost always have to make pretty major changes to my plans as I work through my project. Separating things into sprints was also tough, because most of the time we had very tight timetables that forced us to turn the whole project into a sprint.
-
What went well?
-
I think I learned a lot by observing the different approaches that my classmates took to solving the same problems. Many times when I found myself getting stuck, I discovered that listening to how another person went about fixing it would help me look at the problem in a completely differewnt way and make solving it much simpler. I think this ties into agile project management because seeing

Name of contact
- I contacted Christopher Moeller to talk about independent learning strategies, because I saw that he had described himself as 'self-taught' on our mentor spreadsheet, which I thought was very interesting.

Outcome (i.e., did you get a response? If not, what is your follow-up plan? Did you meet? When? What was the result?)
-
Date of feedback conversation:

-
How did you prepare for the conversation?
-
I thought about how the project had been going and tried to identify aspects of our workflow that were effective and aspects we could have improved on. I also made sure to remind myself to be mindful of my tone and body language during the conversation, and also to try to not get upset if I felt that I received unfair criticism.
Project: Idea Box.
Group member names:Hector Sanchez and Tyler Hevia
Project expectations: What does each group member hope to get out of this project? We both want to improve our knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery and start getting familiar with JSON and local storage.
Team strengths: Good at managing stress, somewhat comfortable with HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
Look at your initial StrengthsFinder reflection that you completed in week 1 -- how have your perceptions of the top 5 themes stayed the same? How have they changed? I don't think my perceptions of my themes have changed all that much, but I have definitely gained a better understanding of the importance of understanding my strengths. When I'm getting inundated with new challenges, like we all have been this mod, it's important to figure out how to best use my strengths to meet my goals. If I spent too much time focusing on my weaknesses, the stress would be much greater.
How are you different today than when you first started at Turing? How are you stronger now than on day 1? How have you struggled? I know much more about programming than I did when I first started, and that makes me very happy with my choice to attend Turing. I think I also have a better understanding of my strenghts and weaknesses and how I can tailor my working style to get the most of myself.

I created 3 divs with identical heights and widths, then I floated one to the left and the other two to the right. I used moved one of the right-floated divs over to the left a little bit using relative positioning, since I couldn't make my margin work right.
I created 3 identical divs inside a larger container div. I left the first div as it was, I gave the second div a margin of 0 auto to center it, and I floated the last div right.
