Thinkfan Configuration Notes

This are notes for configuration thinkfan for Fedora. This configuration procedure was followed on a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (5th Gen) running Fedora 25.

Non standard (default) configuration was required for this machine as the default sensors are not available. Eg: /proc/acpi/ibm/thermal does not exist for this model.

An annoted configuration file has been included below. However, there is no guarentee that this will work as-is on every machine.

Installation

dnf -y install thinkfan

Install Prerequisites on ALL (Worker and Master) Nodes

Let's remove any old versions of Docker if they exist:

sudo yum remove docker \
                  docker-common \
                  docker-selinux \
                  docker-engine

Install Arch Linux on root ZFS filesystem

Pre-installation

Download Arch linux

https://archlinux.org

Create bootable USB (don't add partition number!)

Get a list of your subreddits

To obtain a list of your subreddits, do the following:

First make sure you're logged in on reddit, on a desktop browser.
Then visit reddit.com/subreddits.
Then put the following snippet in your browsers address bar, and press Enter.
Make sure javascript: is included at the beginning, your browser might remove it while copy-pasting for security reasons:

Packages

pacman -S curl docker ebtables ethtool wget unzip

Also cfssl is needed but available on AUR, using pacaur

	slightly-less-insecure-docker
	wrapper around docker that perhaps makes it slightly less insecure

	example usage:
