OSX for Hackers: Yosemite/El Capitan Edition. This script tries not to be *too* opinionated and any major changes to your system require a prompt. You've been warned.

Drupal 7 - Programmatically create a taxonomy and attach a field to it, then create a content type and attach that taxonomy to it.
<?php
// Machine name for our custom node
define('NODE_NAME', 'the_node_machine_name');
// Machine name for our custom taxonomy
define('TAXONOMY_NAME', 'the_taxonomy_machine_name');
function module_install() {

Mac web developer apps

This gist's comment stream is a collection of webdev apps for OS X. Feel free to add links to apps you like, just make sure you add some context to what it does — either from the creator's website or your own thoughts.

Checkout github pull requests locally

Locate the section for your github remote in the .git/config file. It looks like this:

[remote "origin"]
	fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/*
	url = [email protected]:joyent/node.git

Now add the line fetch = +refs/pull/*/head:refs/remotes/origin/pr/* to this section. Obviously, change the github url to match your project's URL. It ends up looking like this:
