Centuries cut off from the rest of the Kin fractured the Votann’s logic cores. Warp radiation seeped into its data-vaults. The cold rationality of the Machine-Mind began to fracture. Thought-patterns that once prized resilience and order began to twist into... creativity—a trait alien and dangerous to Kin.

In time, Ur-Zhalmak began to alter the Cloneskein templates. Seeking greater "efficiency" and "biological versatility," it began fusing genetic information from scavenged xenos DNA—Orkoid in origin.

What emerged from its vats were not Kin.
