Privacy Policy for Poki4Kids

Poki4Kids ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of children, parents, and all users. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the Poki4Kids Chrome Extension.

1. Zero Data Collection

Poki4Kids does NOT collect, store, track, transmit, or share any personal information or user data.

  • No Personal Data Collected: We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, location data, or device identifiers.
  • No Browsing Tracking: We do not track, record, or transmit your web browsing history or activity on Poki.com or any other website.
  • No External Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), advertising networks, or tracking cookies.

2. Local Storage Usage

All extension configurations—including game whitelists, blacklists, child lock status, and display language preferences—are stored 100% locally on your device using Chrome's native chrome.storage.local API.

This data never leaves your browser and is never transmitted to any external servers.

3. Chrome Extension Permissions

Poki4Kids requests only the minimal permissions required to function:

  • storage: Used exclusively to save parental control settings locally on your machine.
  • activeTab: Used to detect the active Poki game URL when you open the popup, allowing quick whitelist/blacklist additions.
  • contextMenus: Used to display right-click menu options ("Add game to Whitelist" / "Add game to Blacklist") on Poki.com.
  • Host Permissions (https://*.poki.com/*): Restricted strictly to Poki.com to scan game elements and display child-safety overlays on blocked pages.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Poki4Kids is designed specifically to help parents protect children online. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and family safety guidelines by ensuring zero data collection from children or adults.

5. Third-Party Websites

The extension operates on Poki.com. Poki4Kids is an independent extension and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Poki.com. Poki.com’s own privacy policy applies to your interaction with their website.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy in the future, the updated version will be posted here with a revised "Last Updated" date.
