Retrace is a browser extension that helps you recover your place after an interruption.
Nothing. Retrace does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
To do its job, Retrace stores — only on your own device — a local history of the tabs and lightweight on‑page context (page title, URL, and scroll position) you were working with. This data:
- never leaves your browser;
- is saved locally using the browser's storage (IndexedDB / extension storage);
- is never sent to us, to any server, or to any third party;
- can be cleared at any time by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling it.
Retrace requests only the permissions needed for this single purpose: reading tab title/URL, running a content script to capture on‑page context, local storage, idle/alarms for timing, and a side panel for its interface. They are used solely to capture and restore your place, locally.
None. Retrace contains no analytics, no trackers, no remote code, and no advertising.
