Unpack XIP on Linux

Unpacking XIP files on Linux:

  1. Install xar from https://mackyle.github.io/xar/
  2. Install pbzx from https://github.com/NiklasRosenstein/pbzx (use gcc -llzma -lxar -I /usr/local/include pbzx.c -o pbzx and copy the binary into your PATH)
  3. use xar -xf XIP_FILE -C /path/to/extract/to
  4. Change to the directory where you extracted the file.
  5. Use pbzx -n Content | cpio -i to extract the contents.

Building TensorFlow from source

Building TensorFlow from source

The official instructions on building TensorFlow are here: https://www.tensorflow.org/install/install_sources

Prerequisites

We are assuming a build with CUDA support, as well as including SIMD optimizations (SSE3, SSE4, AVX, AVX2, FMA), on a Debian-like system (e.g. Ubuntu Linux).

On new systems, one will have to install CUDA, CuDNN, plus the following dependencies:

instructions to use skia and glfw together. (download, installation, first program). as of Sept 2023, Windows is broken but this is still sadly the best starting resource for skia on Windows too.

The official instructions don't work well. These alternative instructions are intended to be the shortest path to get a minimal setup running.

golang: how to automatically release resources

Suppose you have a type that needs explicit destruction to release resources:

type MyType struct {
  ...
}

func New() *MyType {
