a game for one
or maybe two
a game for me
and one for you
the one percent
have plans to hatch
a scheme to "win"
the world to snatch
right in our face
yet behind our backs

Every day one full sun
Every night a different moon
Celestial beings intertwined
Circling, spiraling, dancing, divine
Across the stars and in the sky
One day full and one day new
Waxing, waning, gibbous too
A path laid out by physics true
Copernicus, Kepler, Newton, Einstein
And all the rest that helped to find

In this world anymore
  Because it scares

       Death
    Continues to
   Be the result
 Of our sick culture

Just beneath everything
Is everything yet again
And all the things that ever were
Continue as before
Because everything is made up
Of itself and yet much more
Infinities in infinities
Holographs and fractal space
Sacred geometries galore
And there just towards the end

Or choose to use your left
You can limit yourself to one hand
But you would feel so quite bereft
You can try with only one wing
To fly out of your nest
And you might hop about on one foot
But two would be the best
To live with only one side
Is only half a life

Imagine first a circle
All points a length from center
Now fill it with the stuff of life
Like food and water and shelter
And all the things a culture needs
To grow and make itself better
Schools hospitals transportation
Libraries and energy manufacture
Combine it all with the values
Of life and education

I was going to write to Mary Oliver
But it turns out she's not dead
So I'll write to her inspiration
Which is Ezekiel instead
A wheel within a wheel, he saw
Like Mary with her starlings
In the sky before him
In awe and so much glory
I find that every wheel we see
And also every bird and fish and tree
