Overview

She ve Seen It is a browser extension designed to help FetLife users determine if their messages have likely been seen by recipients. This privacy policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is used.

Data Collection and Usage

We do NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data outside of your browser.

What the Extension Accesses

The extension accesses the following information from FetLife:

  1. Inbox Conversations: The extension retrieves your inbox conversations to identify messages you've sent
  2. User Activity Data: For recipients of your messages, the extension checks their public activity timestamps
  3. User Preferences: Your extension settings (auto-refresh, check intervals, number of conversations to monitor)

How Data is Used

All data processing happens locally in your browser only:

  • The extension compares message timestamps with recipient activity timestamps to determine if messages were likely seen
  • Visual indicators are added to your inbox showing the probable read status
  • Data is temporarily cached in your browser's local storage for 5 minutes to reduce API requests and improve performance

What We Do NOT Do

  • We do NOT collect or store any data on external servers
  • We do NOT transmit your data to any third parties
  • We do NOT track your browsing activity
  • We do NOT sell or share any information
  • We do NOT use analytics or tracking services

Permissions Explained

Host Permission (https://fetlife.com/*)

  • Required to fetch inbox conversations from FetLife's API
  • Required to check user activity timestamps
  • Required to add visual indicators to the inbox page

Storage Permission

  • Used to save your extension preferences
  • Used to temporarily cache inbox data (5 minutes) to reduce API calls
  • All storage is local to your browser

Data Retention

  • User preferences are stored until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data
  • Cached inbox data automatically expires after 5 minutes
  • No data is retained on any external servers

Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data
  • You can clear cached data by clearing your browser's storage
  • You can modify extension settings at any time through the options page

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
