I graduated from a small town high school in Pennsylvania in 2017. For my senior year, I was accepted and attended the Entrepreneurship Academy at LindenPointe. Along with creating and pitching a business plan, the program exposed me to a network of leaders and students that accentuated my individual skills and passions, as well as help set goals for my future.
After eAcademy and high school graduation, I took a gap year in Colorado to further hone in on myself and what I wanted to do with my life. I worked as an outside service attendant and caddie at Cherry Hills County Club in Denver. I interacted with high level members and guests to maximize their golfing and country club experience. During the winter months I worked at Family Sports Center ice rink, as a rink attendant. While working full-time, I learned to appreciate the value of post high school education. I also realized how much there was to learn and better myself in order to be successful as an adult.
I decided to enter an exploratory year at Slippery Rock University to decide what best matched my interests and talents. After the fall semester as a Business major, I felt a strong desire to attend a team-driven school with an academic specialization. Also during this time, I was engaging in online self-study sites for programming languages; and interviewing recent graduates of coding institutions. My research led to schools focused on front-end and back-end computer engineering, especially the Turing School of Software and Design.
During my second semester at Slippery Rock University, I scheduled classes focusing on computer science to get a better idea of my aptitude and passion for coding. While in these classes I decided I wanted to pursue my studies at Turing, which seemed to fit my desire of a faster paced, community driven learning environment.
I am encouraged with the confirmation of my abilities as I started moving in the direction of continuing my education. Turing and coding has turned into a passion that has given me a new outlet to express my creativity and learn high-level, functional, skills that will be used in and out of the workplace. I am eager to use what I learn to positively impact the world around me as I grow my knowledge and professional portfolio. |

Hi Caleb, sorry for the delay here, but this is a really great story draft! You've demonstrated your accomplishments and drive that have led you here in a straightforward way. I would recommend that for future iterations, think about sharing what you're hoping to do in this career -- what are your longterm goals? What kinds of tech do you love working with? These pieces will be things you'll be able to explore even more as you go through the program as well. Nice job here!
