Run mysqldump on remote database using local docker image
From: http://web.archive.org/web/20160904174444/http://andreafrancia.it/2010/03/understanding-the-output-of-rsync-itemize-changes.html
As you may know the rsync's --delete options if misused could make severe damage.
To prevent this you can use the --itemize-change and the --dry-run options to figure out how the command will behave before launching the real one.
The output will be something like that:
.d..t..g... ./
.f...p.g... Something.pdf

a gitignore cheatsheet

Git sees every file in your working copy as one of three things:

  1. tracked - a file which has been previously staged or committed;
  2. untracked - a file which has not been staged or committed; or
  3. ignored - a file which Git has been explicitly told to ignore.

Ignored files are usually build artifacts and machine generated files that can be derived from your repository source or should otherwise not be committed. Some common examples are:

  • dependency caches, such as the contents of /node_modules or /packages
  • compiled code, such as .o, .pyc, and .class files

How to configure the PHP-Debug extension for VS Code when serving the PHP project from Docker with xdebug

Only add the xdebug.remote_log line if you need to troubleshoot.

FROM php:7.1-apache

RUN yes | pecl install xdebug \
    && echo "zend_extension=$(find /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/ -name xdebug.so)" > /usr/local/etc/php/conf.d/xdebug.ini \
    && echo "xdebug.remote_enable=1" >> /usr/local/etc/php/conf.d/xdebug.ini \

Execute dos2unix for directory recursively.

Will recursively find all files inside current directory and call for these files dos2unix command. Would break if you had spaces in file name.

find . -type f -exec dos2unix {} \;

Wouldn't break if you had spaces in file names.

find . -type f -print0 | xargs -0 dos2unix
