This list is not intended to be exhaustive, up-to-date, or accurate
- Sponges can absorb WATER
- Walking while fully submerged in WATER is exhausting and counts as walking underwater for stats-tracking
- Allows things to pathfind through it if necessary (things won't pathfind through any fluid that isn't WATER)
- Decrements your air supply
- Allows the worldcarver to carve through the floor beneath WATER
- Affects reactions between your fluid and LAVA
- Prevents other WATER from displacing your fluid
- Boats cannot be ridden while submerged in WATER
- Dolphins will only jump into WATER
- Coral requires WATER to live
- WATER is the only fluid that the WorldEntitySpawner will spawn entities in
- Concrete will only solidify via WATER
- Boats only count as being in water while in WATER
- Affects the new position of entities dismounting near WATER

- Farmland will fertilize when near WATER

- Water bottles will fill with water (the abstract concept) when used on WATER
- Affects world generation of plants
- Makes magma generate noise and particles
- Dolphins will try to return to WATER while not in WATER
- Endermen will not teleport onto WATERlogged blocks, even if that block can otherwise act as a floor
- Affects bubbles and other particles
- Item Entities and Experience Orbs and Fishing Bobbers only float in WATER
- Zombies only drown in WATER
- Affects AI of dolphins and squids and fish
- Buckets cannot place WATER in dimensions that are too hot to place water in
- Submerging in WATER while wearing the turtle hat temporarily grants the player Water Breathing
