Thanks to your team for reaching out. Here's a short list. This was after adding two books to my cart and attempting to check out:
0) Numerous delays trying to get to the check out page. Several refreshes involved.
1) I get to the login page. I enter what I think my email/password is. I get a message that the system has been upgraded, so I may need to click forgot password. I don't actually have an account.
2) So I reenter my information, and click "Create Account". It hangs at a loading screen.
3) I refresh and get to an enter information screen. I enter my information. It asks for a "Display Name". I enter "Cory Foy". It tells me that "Cory Foy" is already taken. That makes no sense, because it's just a display name.
4) I click Submit anyway, and nothing seems to happen, so I start to scroll up to see what is going on when the whole page suddenly flashes with an error message that I need to enable JavaScript. Which is odd, because it is enabled, I'm not using privacy mode, and I am using a modern browser.
5) I ignore this and change the display name to cory_foy. The system seems to like this, so I click submit.
6) The system hangs. I want it out for over a minute, before hitting refresh. This takes me to a login screen.
7) I renter my credentials, but this time it lets me in.
8) I can now enter my shopping cart!
9) I start the check out process, filling out all of my information. It's very confusing, because the fields don't line up with the boxes well. For example, twice I entered "US" in the phone number field because I thought it was the country field. Also (minor nit pick) the state boxes use the state code, so instead of typing "Nor" like I'm used to to get closer to North Carolina, it ends up nowhere.
10) I get to the credit card information page, and enter my details. But then next to it is a Paypal link, which says that I would do the payment and then be returned to submit my order. Since I see a "Submit Order" button at the bottom, I must need to do the Paypal thing, so I click it.
11) I'm now on a PayPal page, where my only options are logging in, or creating a Paypal account. No option to pay anonymously. I decide I'm probably just going to get the one book that is out on Amazon, and wait for the other one to be published. But I click Cancel on the Paypal screen.
12) I'm now back on the order screen, except all of my information is gone. I really love Jeff Patton, so I'm willing to try one more time. I reenter all of my information, including my credit card info, ignore the PayPal link, and click Submit Order.
13) Success! I've now purchased the books. Well, I think I did - I see the list of books, but no way to download them. Out of curiosity, I click on one of the titles.
14) Ah! There's the download links. Let's pull them down.
So that was my experience. I'd consider that pretty bad, and it was only because I wanted a pre-release book that I pushed on. I could have instead hopped to Amazon, made two clicks, and had it on my Kindle (as I'm sure you are aware).
If you have any other questions, please let me know!
