Discord Timestamp Syntax

Discord Timestamps

Discord timestamps can be useful for specifying a date/time across multiple users time zones. They work with the Unix Timestamp format and can be posted by regular users as well as bots and applications.

The Epoch Unix Time Stamp Converter is a good way to quickly generate a timestamp. For the examples below I will be using the Time Stamp of 1543392060, which represents November 28th, 2018 at 09:01:00 hours for my local time zone (GMT+0100 Central European Standard Time).

Formatting

Style Input Output (12-hour clock) Output (24-hour clock)
Default <t:1543392060> November 28, 2018 9:01 AM 28 November 2018 09:01

This guide explains the setup you need to do to interact with the top.gg API to post server counts, receive vote alerts of your bot, etc.

📖 In this guide I will explain and display how to setup top.gg api for your bot on topgg in case you're stuck somewhere. After this guide, you will be able to;

  • POST server count
  • GET bot info, server count, upvote info
  • GET data user data whenever your bot is upvoted etc.

Webhook Setup

  • First you need to setup your IP address in webhooks section of your bot. The IP needs to be in format http://ip:port/dblwebhook, Example: http://50.50.00.12:5000/dblwebhook. Make sure your code is running on the IP you provided.

A guide on Bot Development and growth.

Hey there. During the time of bot development, I've learnt a lot, there are several things which I wish I could change and several things which I'm glad I did. I'd like to share my experience which may help some beginners or even some experts.

Transfer your bot to team.

Before you reach verification, you must transfer your bot to a team and include a secured alt in the team. Many developers regret not doing it before their application reaches verification. This essentially provides a ray of hope of not losing your bot if you ever lose your main account. Side note (31 October 2024 🎃): Discord has made it compulsory to have 2FA to do almost anything in the developer portal. You'll have to enable 2fa in your alt.

Raise an epic centre of your project.

An epic centre is the core of your bot, your bot could be known for it. Take Dyno for example, we all know it for it's moderation capabilities. In a similar way, your bot must be known for something. You need to avoid being a sheep in the flock.
