Step 2: Help Us Help You

Please answer the following questions so that Kayt and the rest of the post-grad support staff can most effectively help you in your job search:

  1. What motivates you?

  2. How will you keep yourself going when faced with rejection in the job search? Just know that it isn't personal and I am prepared. It's all a matter of timing and the right opportunity for both the hiring team and myself.

  3. How will you hold yourself accountable to your plans? (Ex: Attend Mod 5, meet with cohortmates, attend Kayt's coffee shop hours, etc.) Keep them in my calander and know that if I let my schedule and plans fall apart it will be much harder to get a job.

  4. How do you like to communicate? Via Slack

  5. What is your ideal job? Somewhere that has a good culture with diverse teams that feel inclusive and welcoming. I want to work somewhere that pushes me to continue growing.

  6. What has been your approach to the job search so far? Everything. Sending tons of 'easy apply' applications, cold outreach, making sure to apply to jobs on built in Colorado that require you to email their hiring manager. This is more personal and I've always gotten a response either way. Lots of coffee meetings.

  7. What could you use help with? At the moment, maybe cover letters.

  8. Anything else you'd like Kayt to know? Nope

  9. If you are not using Huntr, please include a link here to the job tracker you're using so that Kayt can follow along with your progress.

Step 3: Send Your Latest Resume to Kayt

Send a PDF of your resume to Kayt in your DM with your gist answering the above questions. Make sure your resume is titled appropriately, e.g. 'FirsNameLastName.pdf'.
