Hello to the recruitment team at Bounteous!

I am applying for the JavaScript Developer position. This listing was exciting to me because after working in marketing and luxury e-commerce I pivoted my career into frontend development at Turing. I’ve always been passionate about how a brand can carry the same in-person experience into a digital and likely remote realm for their customers. In my previous position, I was thrilled to work cross-departmentally to provide the most accurate and current product listings for our customers, internal sales teams, and marketing promotions. I care about all types of users and their experience with the product.

In my time at Turing I’ve been working on team-based projects centering around JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, GitHub workflow, React and unit testing with Mocha/Chai and now Jest. I’m excited to start tackling Redux soon and would love to learn React Native.

I think I could be an asset to Bounteous with my experience in marketing, e-commerce, and development and I would be happy to contribute my skills.

Looking forward to talking with you and all the best, Estelle

What next steps will you take to make your cover letter even stronger?

I think this needed a more personal opening and more direct relation of my skills to that of the job listing. Also spending time working on my portfolio would have been benefical as my current projects are skeletal.

If you were to apply to this position (and you should!), how will you customize your resume for it?

I did apply to this position, but I did not customize my resume for it.

What other next steps would you need to take here?

Just actually getting my projects into a place where I should be applying.
