Refine your career vision:
-
Currently I am working with the idea that I don't want to work for too small a company as I don't want to have full ownership over problems or wear too many hats. I want solid structure where I can grow and reinforce my foundations. I'd love to work somewhere in Colorado, but I am open to the idea of working elsewhere too. Most jobs seem to be remote at this time, so not a huge issue this year.
-
I would like to find something full-time or multiple contract positions around $75K+. Remote is fine.
-
Most of my searches are "Junior Software Developer" or "Junior Front-End Developer" presently. As to what those roles do, I mostly don't want to be directly working with clients or customers. After talking to Tracey I did modify my search to be more "Associate" roles than "Junior".

Based on your latest version of your career vision, list the top 3-5 industries and companies you’ll pursue in your job search as of right now.
My background is in Ecommerce within the Luxury industry, so I'm looking into Ecommerce companies like Arrow Electronics, Honey, WIX, Havenly and Ibotta. I do also has passions for employee benefits and Gusto appeals to me for that reason and video/mobile games. So I see the Unity and Niantic are hiring as of today. I am very open in many way but I want to work for a good morally sound company. I'd like to be apart of something that adds to the human experience. I also very much enjoyed fraudulent order investigation and denial at my previous job so something in that direction could also be a blast.
-
Why did you pick these industries/companies? How do they relate to the values and goals you have for yourself in your job search?
I have experience in this industry and I can imagine that it might be to my advantage to lean on that experience.

Ian’s workshop this week is designed to help you break down your interest in specific industries even further by exploring their tech stacks to decide if you want to utilize any of their tools in upcoming projects. Make a copy of his template here and post a link to your copy here to show what research you’ve completed. You can also link this research to your Huntr board.
