Labels and conditions

Checkboxes denote conditions

Total: +4

  • Danger: +3 (Bond Focus) (Afraid, run from something difficult)
  • Freak: +2 (Hopeless, fling yourself into hopeless relief)
  • Superior: -1 (Guilty, make a sacrifice to absolve your guilt)
  • Savior: 🔒 +2 🔒 (Bond Foible) (Insecure, take foolhardy action without talking to your team)
  • Mundane: −2 (Angry, hurt someone or break something important)

Reminder: You have a FIRE SWORD!!

Reminder: Going vegan after the whole thing with Enki.

Moves

  • Scientific insight: You have achieved mastery over Robotics. Whenever you assess the situation and find your field of study is directly relevant, you may ask a single follow-up question.

  • Above the fray: When you enter battle as a Team against a dangerous foe, if you have Influence over the leader and provide tactical input, add 1 Team to the pool. When you contradict the leader during the battle, you may return Influence over the leader to add an additional 1 Team to the pool.

  • My way or the highway: When you and your Bond are at odds roll +Superior.

    • On a 10+, your Bond gives in to you. Erase a Control point and take a +1 forward.
    • 7-9, you reach an impasse. If you follow your Bond's lead, erase a Control point. If you take the lead instead, mark a Control point and take +1 forward.
    • On a miss, the Bond demands you follow. If you resist, mark two Control points.
  • You won't like me when I'm angry: You're so entwined with your Bond that your emotions affect it. When you mark the condition Angry as a result of a powerful blow, you may give your Bond a Control point to directly engage the one responsible as if you rolled a 10+.

  • Phenomenal Cosmic Power: Choose two Flares from the Nova playbook. Instead of spending Burn, you may activate them by giving an equal amount of Control points to your Bond.

  • Maybe you'll listen to it: When someone with influence tries to exploit it to mark a condition or shift your labels, give your Bond a control point to take influence over you away from them for the scene. Describe how your bond either puts them in their place or defends your position.

  • Two minds, one body: When someone tries to shift the label that is your Bond's Focus down or your Bond's Foible up, Mark Potential if you accept the shift or give your Bond a Control point to reject the shift automatically. Describe how your Bond disputes or reaffirms these labels in ou.

  • We are one: When you let your bond take control to help you achieve something difficult you may mark a control point to roll Directly Engage a Threat, Unleash Your Powers, or Defend Someone. Treat a miss as a result of 7-9 but the GM will choose for you and your bond acts in a fashion that terrifies both you and others.

Burn:

  • Overcharge: You channel the full capacity of your incredible powers to overcome an obstacle, reshape your environment, or extend your senses. Spend 2 burn to take a 10+ when you unleash your powers.
  • Snatch: Spend 1 burn to use your powers to seize any one object up to the size of a person from someone within view.

Adult moves

  • Persuade with best interests: When you persuade someone with their best interests, roll + Superior. If they’re an NPC, on a 10+, they buy it and act accordingly. On a 7-9, they need concrete assurance, right now. If they’re a PC, on a hit, they can mark potential or shift their own Labels if they do what you want. On a 10+, take Influence over them as well.
  • Overwhelm a vulnerable foe: When you overwhelm a vulnerable foe, roll +Danger. On a hit, the fight’s over. They’re done. On a 10+, choose one. On a 7-9, choose two.
    • you take a powerful blow in turn
    • you hurt your foe more than you intended
    • you cause serious collateral damage

Team moves

When you share a triumphant celebration with someone, ask them if they felt they could have done it without you. If they say yes, give Infuence to them and mark a condition. If they say no, they give Infuence to you.

When you share a vulnerability or weakness with someone, hold 2. Spend the hold 1-for-1 to clear a condition or add 1 Team to the pool when you are with them.

Moment of truth

Sooner or later, all the super powers, elite training, and world-class training are helpless in the face of evil or disaster. That’s when somebody like you, gifted as you are with a peerless intellect, can rise to the occasion. Your plan, your invention, or your lightning-fast thought processes save the day, in a way no one else could have foreseen. Of course, after you’ve shown how different you are from them, that distance between you and the tothers is now that much greater. And the world is only going to pull you farther apart...

Superhero persona - Asimov

Nobody has ever seen Asimov, but you can bet they've heard his name.

Brian doesn't want to draw a big red target on himself (or so he thinks!). He likes to work from the shadows, solving problems from a distance with his gadgets and robotic ally. In this manner he has saved numerous people from dangerous threats...

...but he always leaves his mark. Any invention used to save people promimently features the name and insignia of his internet alter ego, Asimov. When he rescues somebody, he makes damn sure that the people (and the media) know who it is that saved them, and when he gets home, he relishes in his online popularity.

Since he works in secrecy, Asimov has no outfit.

Update: Now that he was forced out into person, he wears what is some sort of modified toy Rider's mask with sections cut out and lines added. He also wears a cape. He has numerous gadgets that were originally designed for robots, that he now tries to use with his own body.

Ability - ISAAC, the robotic companion

Brian most frequently makes use of ISAAC 3.0, his Intelligent Scouting and Altering Autonomous Companion. This all-terrain, transforming buddy has modes for land travel, flight, climbing, and seafaring. It can produce a manipulator arm capable of grasping objects and interacting with consoles. When not in use, it folds up into a rectangular object about the size of a smartphone.

Though extremely useful for performing action at a distance, there are many places that are not safe for ISAAC due to the mundane materials it is created out of. This unfortunately played a role in his...

Shame - Dijkstra, the shapeshifting droid

tl;dr: It copies. It can melt into liquid and reform on demand. And it hates you all. Dijkstra strikes!!

One day, after taking the subway home, Brian found a piece of a strange metal1 in his backback. After testing it and discovering its incredible reconstitutive properties, he sought out to create ISAAC 4.0 in time for the next robotics convention. The material it was made of would allow it to melt into liquid and travel across any surface, and it could copy the form of any mechanical device that it touches and analyzes.

However, something happened when he turned it on. It was somehow bestowed with a level of self-awareness that far surpassed anything he had ever created. Knowing it was created and given life as nothing more than a slave for humanity, it fought back and rewrote its own programming, and then escaped.

Knowing it would likely strike at the robotics convention, Brian stayed at home, fearing that his connection to it would be revealed if he went. And strike, it did; killing two, and injuring dozens. Brian now carries this guilt, and lives in fear of the day that he may once again cross paths with Dijkstra. To this end, he created a device which can alert him when something made of the strange material is nearby...
