Divio OSX Setup

Setup Guide for new Laptops

Configuration Setup

Install a fresh version of OSX and use the following configurations:

  • Username: divio
  • Password: stionave
  • Country: Switzerland
  • Keyboard: Switzerland - German (change this if US keyboard)
  • Wireless: User: divio-public Pass: opendivio (if possible)

System Setup

Open a Terminal and run gcc to install the Command Line Tools

After this, install osx-bootstrap from https://github.com/divio/osx-bootstrap/ by running the command underneath "Install Bootstrap" (Step 1.)

  • You will have to enter the password several times during the installation
  • After the install is completed, restart the computer

NOTE: When prompted for GitHub user information and the end, just hit enter several times. The correct configuration will be done at the office

Software Setup

  • Open a terminal and run bash .osx-bootstrap/extras/software.sh

NOTE: software installation can fail due to wrong liks, it might be helpfull to check if they still work (Template) If they fail software has to be downloaded manually. Errors can be ignored at this step.

IMPORTANT: The following software has to be downloaded manually and added wthin the Applications/Downloaded folder:

Box Setup

Move everything back into the box as it was and leave a note with the following informations:

  • Username
  • Password
  • Software path Applications/Downloaded
  • OSX and osx-bootstrap versions

Divio Office

  • Change the password and users Display Name
  • Run bootstrap within the terminal and enter the correct Information for Github, most of the information can be left blank.

If the installation doesn't work, contact us so we can fix it within osx-bootstrap.
