How to use terminal on Windows without going crazy…

Windows is really horrible system for developers and especially for devops. It doesn’t even have a usable terminal and shell, so working with command line is really pain in the ass. If you really don’t want to switch to any usable system (OS X, Linux, BSD…), then this guide should help you to setup somewhat reasonable environment – usable terminal, proper shell, ssh client, git and Sublime Text as a default editor for shell.

Install stuff

1. Download and install Git for Windows* with:
   • [✘] Use Git from the Windows Command Prompt

• [✘] Checkout as-is, commit Unix-style line endings

It is possible to create multiple menu instances in a single navbar. I'm going to use Bootstrap default navbar for this demonstration:

Laravel 4 and Codeception

• Install Codeception via Composer.
  composer require "codeception/codeception:@stable"
• Create the bootstrap in the app directory.
  codecept bootstrap app
• Set the PhpBrowser url config in app/tests/acceptance.suite.yml.
• Move the codeception.yml file to the root directory.
  mv app/codeception.yml codeception.yml
• Adjust the paths in codeception.yml to reference app/tests rather than tests.
• Move TestCase.php to the unit tests directory.

AngularJS Directive Attribute Binding Explanation

When using directives, you often need to pass parameters to the directive. This can be done in several ways. The first 3 can be used whether scope is true or false. This is still a WIP, so validate for yourself.

How to remove hide the select arrow in Firefox using -moz-appearance:none;

TL;DR (or, the fix)

1. Set -moz-appearance to none. This will "reset" the styling of the element;
2. Set text-indent to 0.01px. This will "push" the text a tiny bit^[1] to the right;
