1. Project Problem and Hypothesis

  • The project is about predicting the trend of USD/JPY exchange rate. It is to provide a better trading strategy.
  • Here are four reasons why it is considered as a machine learning problem:
    1. There are millions of data points
    2. It is a complex problem, there is not yet a perfect trading strategic model for FX, regardless which currency pair
    3. It is with high uncertainty. There are frequently different outputs even with same inputs
    4. It is multi-dimensional problem.
