Where does Ridwell send Waste in Portland (6/24/21)?

The website didn't really say where our trash ends up. So, I asked them via email where the trash from Portland Oregon goes.

Thank you for checking on this! I've included some hopefully helpful information below on the partners Ridwell works with to recycle the items we take. We only work with partners we have personally vetted, who are based in the US (ideally as locally as possible), and who treat the materials we provide with the highest standards of waste diversion and sustainability.

Plastic Film: We partner with Trex to turn plastic film into composite decking material. You can find more information on our plastic film collection and processing procedures here: https://blog.ridwell.com/blog/where-does-it-go-plastic-film-edition 

Batteries and Light Bulbs: We partner with EcoLights NW, located in Portland and Seattle.

Threads: We partner with Pioneer, located in Portland.

Featured Category (changes each pickup!): We partner with a variety of local companies and nonprofits (such as Free Geek, Rose Haven, and Community Warehouse) to bring them items they need!

Styrofoam:  We partner with Agilyx, located in Tigard, OR. Agilyx processes the Styrofoam into crude oil, which is then used for products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel.

Clamshells: We partner with Green Impact to recycle your old plastic #1 PET clamshells into new ones!
