Welcome to my Plex server! :)))

Quick navigation for Discord server:

  • mdnx-auto-dl questions: post in #mdnx-auto-dl.
  • Plex requests didn’t work: post in #plex-requests.
  • Quick chat / small questions: use #general.

General information:

I check the requests page and #plex-requests every 48h. Requested media is usually added within 5 days (includes download time. often sooner).
If it has been a long time, make a [STATUS REQUEST] post (template below) and I will update you.

If you have issues connecting to the server, please ping me in #general with your issue.

The server doesn't have sonarr/radarr setup because i dont like torrent quality that much.
For every request that comes from the requests page, i will check the following services to see if its available and download it from said service:

I can also download from these services, but am not always subbed to them like the services above:

  • Amazon Prime (and any addon service under amazon prime. 1080p/4k SDR/4k HDR. can also download rentals if requested)
  • HBO Max (1080p/4k)
  • Peacock (1080p)
  • Paramount+ (1080p)

If the requested media is not in this list, i will torrent it.
If you want to go the extra mile, you can also share a link to the torrent with the media you want.
This is not needed, but would save me some time :)

Join Discord server

To get access to either the plex or jellyfin server, do one of the following:

  1. DM me from Discord. My username: HyperNylium.
  2. DM me from Reddit. My username HyperNylium.
  3. Join the server and make a post in #plex-requests titled [ACCOUNT REQUEST].

Streams and downloads

  • Every user gets 3 concurrent streams (including transcodes). Example: TV + phone + tablet at the same time.
  • Plex downloads are disabled by default. If you want access for mobile/offline viewing, let me know on Discord ;)

Capacity and availability

  • Max 40 users at a time. If you do not stream anything for 6 months, you will be removed to free a slot. You can re-apply in #plex-requests.
  • If we are full, you can still apply. You will be added to the queue.

Requesting Movies / TV / Anime through Overseerr (preferred)

  1. Open the requests page and log in with your Plex account.
  2. Search the title and click Request.

If Overseerr is not an option, use the Discord method below.

Requesting Movies / TV / Anime through Discord

  1. Find the TMDB or TVDB URL of the title. Example: https://www.thetvdb.com/series/spy-x-family
  2. In #plex-requests, create a forum post using this format.

Requesting Crunchyroll simulcast anime (only through Discord)

  1. Find the Crunchyroll series URL. Example: https://www.crunchyroll.com/series/G4PH0WXVJ/spy-x-family
  2. In #plex-requests, create a forum post using this format.

Quality and timing
New simulcast episodes arrive 10–30 minutes after Crunchyroll release at 1080p ~8000 kb/s bitrate, 128/138 kb/s audio, with English/Japanese dubs and English subtitles.

Requesting HiDive simulcast anime (only through Discord)

  1. Find the HiDive series URL. Example: https://www.hidive.com/season/19079?seriesId=1050 (has to have that ?seriesId=XXXX part)
  2. In #plex-requests, create a forum post using this format.

Quality and timing
New simulcast episodes arrive 10–30 minutes after HiDive release at 1080p ~5000 kb/s bitrate, 124 kb/s audio, with English/Japanese dubs and English subtitles.

Status request template

This is more for if you requested something through Overseerr and it hasn't showed up after 5 days.
In #plex-requests, make a post:

Remove yourself

If you want to free a slot, post in #plex-requests:

Body

If you do not plan to watch anything, please make this post so others can join.

Backups and maintenance (America/New_York)

Backups

  • Mon–Fri and Sun: 1:20–1:40 AM — snapshot backup. Server may be slightly slower but keeps streaming.
  • Sat: 1:20–2:00 AM — offline backup. Server will be offline briefly.
    (These are maximum windows; backups may finish earlier.)

Maintenance

  • Saturdays: If no one is streaming, I will shut the server down for updates (30–60 minutes). I will post in #announcements before starting. Please keep that channel unmuted.
  • If I see new episodes queueing after that notice, I will end those streams to proceed with updates.

Server appears offline

Possible reasons:

  • Power outage: servers auto-shutdown safely. If I still have internet, I will post in #announcements.
  • Update rollback: restoring from backup (20–60 minutes).
  • If the server stays offline for more than 1 hour, ping me in #general (please do not spam).

What content is available?

  • Primarily anime, plus movies and TV shows.
  • You can request anything. Only Crunchyroll and HiDive simulcasts are auto-downloaded for new episodes, and dub/sub updates.
  • Manual additions (everything from Overseerr and Discord) will not auto-update with new episodes.

This is a hobby server

This is a hobby server. It is not "Netflix v2". My server is not as advanced as others you see on the subreddit.
I do this for fun :)

DIY downloader
