LipoShield ("the app", "we", "us") is a mobile wellness app that helps you track soluble-fiber intake, log lipid-panel numbers, browse heart-healthy recipes, and compare prices on supplements and foods.
We have designed LipoShield to be privacy-first. The app has no user accounts, no LipoShield backend server, and no central database of user-entered health logs. The health information you enter stays on your own device.
This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is stored, and the choices you have.
When you use LipoShield, you may choose to enter or generate the following information:
- Health-related lipid data — values you choose to log from a lipid panel, such as total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides, plus a "weeks commitment" setting.
- Fiber and habit tracking — your daily soluble-fiber count and your G-BOMBS (greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries, seeds) checklist.
- App preferences and status — your selected price-data source, your saved price alerts (item and target price), your subscription/PRO status flag, and whether you have acknowledged the in-app legal/health disclaimer.
This information is optional. The app works without an account, and you decide what, if anything, to enter.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or government identifiers. The app does not require you to sign in.
All of the information listed above is stored locally on your device only, using the device's standard on-device storage (AsyncStorage).
- Your lipid values, fiber logs, habit checks, and price alerts are not transmitted to us or to any LipoShield server.
- Your health logs are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties.
- We do not have access to your lipid values, fiber logs, habit checks, price alerts, or local app preferences. There is no LipoShield server that receives or stores them.
Because the data lives only on your device, it is protected by your device's own security (passcode, biometrics, OS-level encryption). If you uninstall the app, the locally stored data is removed by the operating system. If you back up your device, the app's local data may be included in that device backup according to your device and OS settings — that backup is controlled by you and your OS/cloud provider, not by LipoShield.
Lipid-panel values are health-related information, and we treat them with care. They are stored only on your device as described above and are never sent to us.
LipoShield is an educational and self-tracking wellness tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and does not provide medical advice. The information in the app is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your cholesterol, cardiovascular health, supplements, and treatment decisions.
LipoShield uses or may use the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat — used to validate LipoShield PRO in-app purchases and subscription entitlements. RevenueCat may receive app identifiers, anonymous purchase/customer identifiers, product IDs, transaction/receipt data, and subscription status. Payment card details are processed by Apple or Google, not by LipoShield.
- PostHog — used for product analytics when configured in production builds. Events are limited to app usage signals such as app open, screen view, paywall view, and subscription-unlocked events. We do not send lipid values, fiber logs, supplement notes, price alerts, or other user-entered health logs to PostHog.
LipoShield does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
If price data later comes from an external pricing service, only product/price lookups would be involved — your health and tracking data would still remain on your device.
LipoShield is intended for adults (18 and older) managing their cardiovascular and lipid wellness. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because the app has no accounts and stores no data on any server, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has used the app, you can clear all locally stored data using the deletion options described below.
LipoShield does not operate a backend account system or central database for your health logs. We do not store your lipid values, fiber logs, habit checks, saved searches, or price alerts on our own servers.
Data is retained as follows:
- On-device app data — lipid values, fiber logs, G-BOMBS checklist state, price source preference, price alerts, PRO status flag, search/filter preferences, and legal-consent acknowledgement are retained locally on your device until you delete the app, clear the app's storage through your device settings, or otherwise remove the data from that device.
- Device backups — if your phone backs up app data to iCloud, Google, or another backup provider, that backup is controlled by your device settings and the backup provider's retention rules, not by LipoShield.
- Purchase and subscription records — Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may retain transaction, receipt, entitlement, refund, tax, fraud-prevention, and customer-support records for as long as required for billing, legal, accounting, security, dispute, and platform-compliance purposes.
- Analytics events — if PostHog analytics is enabled, product-usage events such as app opens, screen views, paywall views, and subscription-unlocked events may be retained by PostHog according to its service settings and retention policies. We do not send lipid values, fiber logs, supplement notes, price alerts, or other user-entered health logs to PostHog.
You can delete LipoShield data as follows:
- Delete local app data — uninstalling LipoShield removes the app's locally stored data from your device through the operating system. On Android, you may also use system settings to clear the app's storage/data without uninstalling. On iOS, deleting the app removes its local app container from the device.
- Delete backup copies — if your device backup includes LipoShield data, manage or delete those backups through your iCloud, Google, or device-backup settings.
- Third-party service data — for purchase/subscription data held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat, and analytics events held by PostHog if enabled, contact us at iganapolsky@gmail.com. We will help identify the relevant anonymous app/customer identifier where available and will forward or process deletion requests when legally and technically possible. Some records may need to be retained by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, PostHog, or us for billing, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute, security, or legal-compliance reasons.
- No account deletion needed — LipoShield does not require a LipoShield account, so there is no separate LipoShield account to close.
Because your data stays on your device, you remain in control of it:
- Uninstall the app — removing LipoShield deletes its locally stored data from your device through the operating system.
- Clear app storage through device settings — on Android, you can clear the app's storage/data in system settings. On iOS, deleting and reinstalling the app clears the local app container on that device.
- Decline to enter data — the app does not require any health information; you choose what to log.
We store data only on your device and transmit nothing to our own servers, which significantly limits exposure. On-device data is protected by your device's built-in security features. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we encourage you to protect your device with a passcode or biometric lock.
We may update this privacy policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes — including adding any third-party service that receives data — we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
