--Agile Reflection
It was interesting to learn about the different ways that companies and teams of developers approach producing a product.
Waterfall being the older approach to tackling problems and Agile being the newer and more modern approach. Both have
their own benefits like Waterfall is better used when it's expensive to make a product and to make prototypes and Agile
is good for rapid deployment. After learning a little about Agile in college with business it was cool to see how Agile
is used in the modern tech companies. Agile in my opinion is the better approach to bringing a product to market. It is
more flexible and can be implemented easier and render quicker results and lower overhead.
--Personal Feedback Reflections
After my paired project with Andrew we spoke about how we both could improve. Andrew informed me that I was a strong team
player and that I did well with communicating goals and I promoted a strong workflow process throughout the project. Andrew
told me that the best thing I could do to further improve my group work would be to be more assertive with my thought process
and don’t be afraid to get something wrong while working with code. This was a very useful bit of feedback as I have been
struggling with doing the wrong thing with my code to help me get to the right thing. Sometimes taking a chance can improve
my outcome.
--Professional Story
Prior to Turing I worked in the financial industry for many years mostly as a stockbroker. My goal out of college was to
become a financial advisor, coming from a poor family and having to battle poverty my whole life I had a vendetta to become
as financially intelligent as I could. This was a low set goal I came to find as after being in finance and learning much I
felt myself becoming complacent and my learning was capingout. This desire to learn more drove me to reevaluate where my
interests were and think about what I really enjoyed in life. I found myself coding in my free time as it was something I
never followed through on when I was younger.
--Mod 3 Networking Plan
During mod 3 I have a structured plan on how to promote my knowledge and get more exposure to potential employers and expand
my personal connections in tech. I will continue to fine tune all my social media outlets and tech job search sites such as
Built In Colorado. I plan to got to meet-ups again as they seemed to be a fantastic way to meet new people and really get
your name out there. Other than that I will continue to build my portfolio and start structuring that in a way that I can
begin promoting it to people to checkout.
