A critique of Adolf's Mein Kampf
Here, I will review Mein Kampf ("My Struggle") by Adolf Hiter, the version located here:
Chapter 1 - In the House of My Parents (At Home)
> "IT HAS turned out fortunate for me to-day that destiny appointed Braunau-on-the-Inn
to be my birthplace."
Sentence number 1 assumes that destiny exists and has acted in favor of Adolf. It hasn't. There is no destiny. This event was probably just luck or chance. The reason Adolf thinks that this isn't the case is because he thinks that he is special or chosen. He isn't.
> "For that little town is situated just on the frontier between those
two States [German-Austria] the reunion of which seems, at least to us of the younger generation, a task to
which we should devote our lives and in the pursuit of which every possible means
should be employed. "
Sentence number 2 implies that the union of Germany and Austria is something that seems, to the people in Adolf's generation, a "task to which we should devote our lives". I don't believe that Adolf could name other people his age who were willing to dedicate their lives to the union of Germany and Austria. I think that was what he wanted, and he just projected what was in his head into other people.
> "German-Austria must be restored to the great German Motherland. "
There is nothing before this sentance explaining why that is the case. In fact - this sentence is false. People must consume water to live, but Germany and Austria must not be "restored" into one big German motherland. The use of the word "restored" is in and of itself a bias implying that combining these two countries into one country is good.
Alright, I can't read anymore of this shit. I already think that the guy is an egomaniac and also mentally fucked up. I don't see any point in reading any further.
