I accidentally bricked my TP-Link WiFi range extender whilst attempting to install OpenWrt, leaving it inaccessible via TFTP or a wired serial connection. With no other recovery options available, I ultimately purchased a replacement.
To help others in the same situation, I used a CH341A USB Programmer to dump the SPI flash chip (W25Q64JV) from the new range extender prior to powering it on for the first time. This way, anyone facing a similar issue can re-flash their device instead of having to purchase a replacement.
