Project: Refractor tractor
Group Member Names: Kevin Johnson, Mandy Alford, Ed Stoner
Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):
Getting comfortable with the new technologies, getting comfortable with someone else's codebase, effectively collaborating and practicing good github workflow and improving pull request ettiquette.
Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):
We would like to keep in constant communication with one another, with daily check ins and have goals to strive for.
We all share similar values as it pertains to collaboration and communication.
Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):
We are all in agreement with staying at turing an hour or two after class lectures as needed. And we all agree to constantly update each other on what we're working on at any given time. And we also find it important to timebox solo time for everyone to work on things as needed.
Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests/Debugging and Problem-solving Techniques):
Have everyone review pull requests as they're submitted, use issues to address problems that are arising.
Project management tools we will use (GitHub projects or Trello are popular tools):
We're going to utilize a trello board for this project.
Day 1 Agenda: | |
Make the DTR, have Ed setup the repo and add us as collaborators, get familiar with the codebase, setup the trello board.
Reflection: | |
Overall: Overall I felt like this was a great project. Everyone in the group seemed to be working hard, and I definitely want to give a shout out to Ed for keeping us on track!
Technical: It was great getting practice with recieving data from the api and refactoring previous functions based on hard coded data. My main takeaway is that I'm getting comfortable with using promise.all but I can't wait to learn about async/await!
Reflection: Upon reflection I can say that this project was definitely a success. I thought our git workflow and communication was the best out of any project I've worked on at Turing so far! |
