What feedback did you get on Dog Party today? What was your biggest takeaway?
Dustin- Got the entire project completed with some holes. Do the workflow as it's given to you instead of getting ahead of yourself and adding extra things.
Kevin-  Format my HTML better, get more used to working with js. Do the work they ask of you in the order they ask you and try not to add to much on your own.

We would like to shoot for at least proficient in all categories but would like to excel if possible. Make sure we fully complete each iteration before we move onto the next one. If we recieve good feedback, and become comfortable with the new learning materials.

Cameron and I both utilize the strategic thinking leadership style whereas Alex utilizes moreso of the relationship building and influencing leadership styles so we think those styles should blend well as a whole. We would like to maintain constant communication and set daily goals for what we'd like to achieve. We would like to do mostly driver-navigator while we're at turing and implement more of a ping-pong sty

What have you learned about the use of agile vs. waterfall in software projects?

I've learned that it's much easier and more practical for me personally to implement a agile methodology as opposed to waterfall in my software projects. I really like the idea of getting to the minimum viable product (mvp) and just get the thing I'm trying to do to get up and running and then recieve feedback on it shortly thereafter so I can move on to the next thing that I need to work on. Whereas with a waterfall type approach I think it would be much more difficult to try and use that strategy because you would essentially have to build everything at once and just hope that everything works well together.

How did you and your group approach project management in this project (what tools did you use, how did you hold each other accountable, etc.)?

My group utilized the github projectboard and I felt that really helped with keeping us focused on each particular task that we were working on. We held each other accountable by

We would like to finish the project and not skip any iterations along the way. We want to keep our communication constant and stay open with one another on our goals and progress throughout the project. If we're learning first and foremost, and also if we're making progress that is up to our standards.

Project: What's Cookin?

Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):

  We would both like to build an eye appealing page/application that fulfills all of the projects specs and also implement some of our own features. I think we will know that we're successful if we are proud of our end product and we learned some new concepts along the way.

I wasn't always sure what I wanted to be in life, but I knew that wherever I would decide to go; I would need to work hard in order to get there. Having a strong work ethic is something that I've gotten instilled in me from my father, and I try to apply it to everything that I do in life. I've done just about every kind of hard manual labor, from construction, to overnight warehouse work, to landscaping, to moving furniture. I've never been afraid to get my hands dirty and do whatever it takes to get the job done. I actually enjoyed working at all of those different jobs, it's very rewarding to see all of your hard work result in someones lawn looking pristine, or seeing the smiles on your customers face when you get them all moved into their new home. Throughout my 20's I was mostly content with living for myself, and working in order to provide for myself. 

The spring season is symbolic for new beginnings, and in the spring of 2017 I met a girl who would change my life forever. And that girl is now my wife

In a few sentences, explain what the project was and the scope of your work. Imagine explaining your answer to a technical recruiter or a developer who you’d potentially be interviewing with who knows nothing about Turing.

The project is called what's cookin?, and it is essentiallity a recipe based cookbook application where a user can filter through their recipes and add favorite recipes and save recipes to cook later. We worked on building multiple classes, practicing tdd to help develop our functionality, and working with some higher order es6 iterative functions. 

What is your approach to working on a team? (In your answer, provide an example from this project)

My approach to working on a team is try and be as cooperative as possible and definitely pull my weight throughout the project. In this project I did my best to stay on the same page with jesse and try to communicate what I was working on so we wouldnt have too many conflicts.

Getting more familiar with webpack, jquery, sass, fetching api's, testing dom manipulation, spies.

Sam Landfried, he's an established developer in denver and is a good friend as well.

When you will contact them by and how you plan to meet
I plan to contact him in mod3, and we will probably meet up at a coffee shop or something.

What your follow-up will look like once you've met with them
I will try to do some networking on my own by going to meetups and reaching out to recruiters. I will then try to relay what networking i've done on my own to Sam and see if he can give me any feedback on my networking process.  

What other steps will you take to start building a stronger network in the tech community?

Having a good grasp on the building out the tests for the project, reaching for an mvp on the project and trying to push for implementing an extension if time is permitting.
