WSL2 has native Linux kernel, no fork emulation issues.

Why This Happens:

Windows Architecture:
├─ No native fork() system call
├─ Cygwin emulates via memory duplication
├─ DLLs loaded at random addresses (ASLR security)
├─ Child process can't map DLLs at same address
└─ Fork fails with "dll data read copy failed"

Security Software:
├─ Windows Defender monitors process creation
├─ Antivirus scans DLL loading
├─ Security tools inject into processes
└─ These interfere with fork emulation

This is NOT a Claude Code bug - it's a Cygwin-on-Windows limitation.

💡 ALTERNATIVE: Use Native Windows Tools
Claude Code may support native Windows commands:

Instead of bash:

cmd.exe or PowerShell
- No fork emulation needed
- Native Windows process creation
- No Cygwin DLL issues

Check if Claude Code has a setting:
