This article explains how chunk packets work in Minecraft 1.8 (PVN 47). I was motivated to write this due to the lack of easily understandable documentation for this version of Minecraft. I drew inspiration from the Wiki's article. This article wouldn't have been possible without the awesome folks from the Minecraft Protocol Discord server.

Terminology

Section: A 16x16x16 collection of blocks, including block light and skylight.
Chunk: A vertical stack of 16 sections.

Packets

0x21: Used to send a single chunk column.

The original snippet no longer works!

On 02/09/2024 at around 8pm UTC, Discord flipped an experiment (2023-09_mobile_redesign_override_toggles) which ignores the layout toggle that this script relied on.

If you want to continue using the old layout, you can either use a modded mobile client (such as Vendetta) to disable that experiment, or downgrade to an old version of the app.

Method 1 - Downgrading (Android)

Using a modified app (Android & IOS friendly):

Follow the instructions from https://github.com/vendetta-mod/Vendetta
After the client is installed, navigate to Settings > Plugins, then click the +, and finally paste https://vd-plugins.github.io/proxy/maisymoe.github.io/strife/Experiments into the input and click Install
Once the experiments plugin is enabled, reload the app then go to Settings > Experiments > Tabs V2 - redesign opt-out/in for all and select Control Bucket.

Ive also heard enmity works well for IOS.

Working Around FLStudio Trial Limitations

Some notes on working around limitations imposed by FLStudio's trial mode

The Problem:

I want to use Logitech Hub profiles in multiple Windows accounts and multiple Windows Devices. Logitech Hub allows me to upload a profile linked to my account or public, when I download the profile on the second account/machine, the profile is being assigned to the default profile. I was not able to find a way to reassign macros etc to the actual Application profile.

The Solution:

The problem is that in each instance of Logitech Hub, each app has a unique ID, this ID is not transferable to another instance of the application. Even when I upload a profile to my online Logitech profile when I download it back to my device, it can't assign it to the correct ID, so it stays in the Default profile.
