I don't know if there is an available API but I would like to find out which doctors are being paid by which pharmiceutical companies and display that information. This would be great for patients so they can make a choice of which doctor they choose to deal with based on what prescriptions they are being prescribed.
The problem is that there's too much money in the health industry and there are a lot of drugs being prescribed to people who may or not need them. Or they may not be the correct type of drug that they need. What my idea is to at least give the patient/consumer a heads up as to which companies paying doctors directly to prescribe their drugs.
If there is an API that exists, i would like to hit the API with either a doctor's name or a drug. And let you know either which companies they deal with or which doctors are being paid by particular drug companies.
Everyone, but specifically i think it could help the elderly, the young and the pregnant. But really it would help everyone.
