Look at your initial StrengthsFinder reflection that you completed in week 1 -- how have your perceptions of the top 5 themes changed?
I don't know that I would consider the top five that they gave me (Learner, Adaptability, Positivity, Achiever, Activator) to be my 'true top 5 strengths,' but I do beleive I hold all of those strengths somewhere inside of me. The two that absolutely fit me are Adaptablility and Posititvity.
How are you different today than when you first started at Turing? Where are you stronger now than on day 1.
I am much stronger today than when I first started at Turing. When I began, I had a vague idea about what it meant to be a developer. Now I fell as though I am much more confident and competent when it comes to some of the basic concepts of HTML, CSS and Javaspript, but I want to know more. I think this is what keeps driving me. I find myself thinking about non-developement things from a developers view, how can I break this down into smaller problems and solve those?
Considering how you describe these themes, how do you want others to see you as you continue to progress through Turing?
I want other people to see me as a hard worker, who is more than happy to help out fellow classmates across all of Turing. I want to remain open to other methods and I want to be able to learn from people who attack problems from a different angle than I do. I beleive the diversity of ideas when it comes to writing code is something that will make us all stronger if we are able to embrace it.
How might these themes play a role in describing your Turing story?
My Turing story is only begining. By keeping these themes as my focus going forward, I beleive I will be able to become a very strong coder who will be able to my strengths to help further my success. By keeping my drive for learning alive, I'll never lose my passion for learning new languages. By staying adaptable, I'll be able to deal with unforseen obstacles and find a way around or through them. By staying positive, it will be easier for me to stay in a growth mindset and help others around me stay in a positive frame of mind when things get tough.
Even though your Turing story isn't finished yet, what do you envision for your development in future mods? How will this story end?
I think my story will end in success, because of hard work and a hungry open-mind. I've never been afraid of hard work and I learn something new everyday. I see my development in future mods going well. I need to focus more on repetition after I have learned a new skill to help better grasp my new knowledge.
