This view gives descriptions and shortcut keys for things being hovered over by the cursor.
Session view is non-linear, no concept of time. It is composed of a set of Tracks that are stacked vertically and numbered horizontally. Tracks can be dedicated to MIDI, Audio
Arrangement view IS a linear way of visualizing a composition.
Browser view is a means to populate the Session and Arrangement views. Of note, the User Library is where your stuff is located. CUrrent project shows all of the files used by a given project.
Located at the top of the window at all times. Features tempo controls, current time position, playback and recording controls, looping controls, among other tools.
Displays clip information and effects chain. Is contextual based on what you are doing.
Clips are containers that hold information and ideas. They are the fundamental building blocks in Ableton. The container can hold sound files like wavs or mp3s or data like MIDI. They also contain an analysis file that represents information about the sound files and any edits made in Ableton. The original sound files are not manipulated at all.
