    • Outreach: at least 1 email a day
    • Research: 1-2 companies per day
    • Network: Attend 1 meetup per week
  2. Backwards planning: What is your cut-off for ending the job search? When do you want to receive and sign an offer by?

    • Cut-off: When I get a job
    • Job goal date: 8/17
  3. Based on what you outlined above, create monthly, weekly, and daily goals in order to reach your big goal.

  4. What "barriers" tend to hold you back in the job search? What steps will you take to overcome those "barriers"?

    • My main barriers tend to be procrastination and focus. I plan to leave the house every day and go to a quite place like Turing or a coffee shop

#2: Longterm Career Plan: What are your career goals?

Where do you want to go in your career? * My main goal is to branch out on my own and start a business but in the shorter tearm I would like to work up to project manager.

  1. Imagine that it's 5 years from now - what have you accomplished during that time? How is your life different? What steps did you take to achieve your goals?

    • 5 years from now I will be a senior dev at a company that values its employees. It was a tough road to get there but i was able to do it by keeping and open mind and approaching obstacles as learning opportunities. I was also able to find success by reaching out to the community and finding a great support network.
  2. Create a vision statement for these longterm goals

    • I will keep an open mind and continue to remind myself that this is my journey and all people have different challenges.
    • I will realize that challenge builds charecter and avoiding challenge leads to failure
    • I will put in the extra time to do things right not just to spec.
    • I will make sure to let others know they are valued.
    • I will be open to the ideas of collegues and friends.
    • I will seek out a mentor and learn to rely on the wisdom of others
    • I will remind myself that I am happiest when I am able to create and it always feels better when challenged
  3. Reference what you outlined in your Flower Exercise -- what preferred level of responsibility do you want to move to? Do you want to start your own company? What kind of work do you see yourself doing longterm? In your first year on the job, what skills do you want to develop to work towards your longterm goals?

    • Prefered level of Responsibility: Project manager

    • Longterm goal of starting my own company

    • first year skills to learn on the job

      • listening and retention
      • comfortability being autonomous
      • Coding speed
      • setting a workfolow
      • prioritization
      • organization and planning
      • Agile workflow
