A list of very simple and easy to make ideas for a casual hackathon with your mates!

Look at doing a web project if you do not have that much time.

Try to solve a problem. What do you not like about a school? How can this be done better?

  • A well designed app to tell people how much alcohol is in a standard drink and a way for them to track what they have had. They might even be able to track their friends.
  • Truth or Dare messaging app. People send truth or dares and can buy question packs to expand the game.
  • An app young people can use to get help from a varity of services. (Kids Helpline, Emergency Accommodation etc...)
  • Skill for Amazon Alexa
  • Amazing race chat bot
  • A better app for PTV
  • People can post their thoughts on a social issue anonymously
  • An app here people can take a quiz and get a list of charities they might like donating to.
  • A very simple app people can use to receive a call to their phone to get them out of a siuation. (Twilio API)
  • Study group organizing
  • A website where you put in your password, and it returns a unique link that can be used to retirve the password once. This could be good for people going away and wanting to give their snapchat accounts to friends but are not sure if they will have internet. If they have internet, they can go on and cancel or delete the link so their friend cant retrive the password and if they dont have internet the password will unlock after a certian amounont of hours and then their friend can retirve their password once. Similar to firefox send but with a timer that unlocks the page.
  • howtoencrypt.com. A webite with guides to help encrypt or devices, internet traffic and more.
  • Slurpee Finder - A map of 7/11 and when you click on one it shows you what flavour they have. Another page with a list of all slurpee flavour and you can click on one and it shows you the 7/11s with that flavour.
  • 🌟🌟🌟 An App where a group of friends can create a 'room'' (like a server on discord) and they can put in what times they are unavaliable and someone can make an event based on when the most poeple are avaliable and people can RSVP to it. A person can be in multiple 'rooms'as well. Something VERY similar: doodle.com
  • React app to track friends birthdays. Use Google Docs as a reference.
