DTR Memo

Project: SWAPI Trivia

Group Member Names: Allie, Raisa

  • Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):

Allie - Meet all learning goals, get more comfortable and quick with React, finish all iterations Raisa - Same, with some extensions, get as high a score as possible

  • Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):

Allie: Strength is managing projects Raisa: Knows React really well, also good at organization

Split up where possible, use Trello.

Look at project, plan out as much as possible, choose date for deliverables for first part of plan, then plan the rest

  • How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles:

Use mentor and rock when help is needed, keep chill, don't get too hung up when something isn't working, just find another way

  • Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):

Raisa: Flexible

Allie: Not free Wednesday evening, Saturday

Raisa would prefer less driver-navigator, more splitting up project

  • Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open? How will we make decisions as a team?):

Meet every morning 15 minutes before class to discuss where project is

  • Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):

Allie: Get more comfortable with testing, CSS Raisa: Understand async function testing

  • Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?):

  • Need to outline each page and the App/component structure and decide which features we want to work on.

  • Figure out structure of app together, then work on separate components as much as possible

  • Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests/Debugging and Problem-solving Techniques):
  • Use Trello for project management
  • Go to each other for help if we have questions, communicate over Slack or in person.
  • Check with each other before each push to Github, let other know that you made a PR
  • Ask questions via github PR's
  • Put issues on Github
  • Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:

Allie: Hard feedback ok, just without being cruel Raisa: Feedback about code, not personal, if you feel uncomfortable, say something

  • Project management tools we will use (GitHub projects or Trello are popular tools):

  • Day 1 Agenda:
  • Create Repo
  • Make Trello board
  • Set up requirements
  • Wireframe each page
  • Architect the React structure of App
  • Create tasks in Trello
  • Divide up tasks as much as possible
  • Put issues on Github
