Auto-deploying Doxygen documentation to gh-pages with Travis CI

Auto-deploying Doxygen documentation to gh-pages with Travis CI

This explains how to setup for GitHub projects which automatically generates Doxygen code documentation and publishes the documentation to the gh-pages branch using Travis CI. This way only the source files need to be pushed to GitHub and the gh-pages branch is automatically updated with the generated Doxygen documentation.

Sign up for Travis CI and add your project

Get an account at Travis CI. Turn on Travis for your repository in question, using the Travis control panel.

Create a clean gh-pages branch

To create a clean gh-pages branch, with no commit history, from the master branch enter the code below in the Git Shell. This will create a gh-pages branch with one file, the README.md in it. It doesn't really matter what file is uploaded in it since it will be overwritten when the automatically generated documentation is published to th

GLFW on OS X starting guide

OpenGL Development on OS X

While it's possible to download packages and install them manually, it's such a hassle. Fortunately for us, OS X has an unofficial package manager called http://brew.sh Let's install it. Open you Terminal and paste the following code:

ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"

Great. Homebrew will automatically install packages to /usr/local. Conveniently, that directory is already in your include and link paths.

Enable key-repeat for ALL applications or just for IdeaVim/specific JetBrains apps

Upgrading to Lion or Yosemite and WebStorm 9, I noticed key repeat was
turned off for the IdeaVim plugin h j k l keys.

System-wide key repeat

defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false in a terminal will enable
key repeat for every app. This can alternatively be found in the accessibility settings in OS X' preferences.

App specific key repeat

Reverse Proxy Tunneling with an amazon EC2. Poor-mans gotomypc, teamviewer, etc.

Reverse Port Tunneling with EC2

Reverse port tunneling is used to give a user outside of a networks firewall accesst to a computer inside the firewall where direct SSH connections aren't allowed. It works by the in-firewall computer SSH'ing to a middleman computer that then forwards incomming SSH connections on a given port to the firewalled computer.

Setup the middleman

  • Get an ubuntu EC2 instance
  • Download it's security keys (both in-firewall and out-firewall computers will need the private key)
  • Setup the security group to allow connections on port 10002
  • SSH into the middleman and add: GatewayPorts yes to /etc/ssh/sshd_config
