<RobinStamer> (24 Resplendant Wood); Marruk has called Shade to his office.
<Marruk> "Hello Shade." Marruk had cooked lunch it seemed, a small array of food for him, and a tall glass of blood for Shade, his own, as he could regenerate from it almost instantly. He grinned up at her and closed the door, he hadn't talked with her much recently, what with dealing with Ivy, and it was about time he had decided, to seek her advice.
<Marruk> She was after all, an expert when it came to ghosts. "Thanks for coming. I needed to talk to you about some things."
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Such as?"
<Marruk> "Have you heard of a cult in the next territory over, lead by a woman named Ivy?"
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "A bit. I haven't looked into it at all though."
<Marruk> "Well. Ivy is a ghost." He paused and rubbed his temple, "At least of some kind. Its like she's a ghost but there's something else there too, I haven't seen anything like it.All of her clergy is dead, and the spirits are riding the corpses."
<Marruk> "I was under the impression that between you, the Shoats, and your mother no one ghosts where free on the island."
<RobinStamer> Shade takes out a book and starts flipping through it. "Ivy, Ivy... Ivy. Does she have a last name?" She continues to look through it.
<Marruk> "I know her married name is Bridge, her maiden name eludes me however."
<Marruk> Furthermore she seems to perform a ritual, where she kills an aspiring priestess, and the return in a similar state."
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Bridge?" She gets out another book, and flips through it. Moments later. "Yes, Bridge, Ivy, age 17 as of 4 years ago. Daughter of a Larry Bridge, who was murdered by rectally inserted claymore. Relation to case: grieved, non-suspect."
<Marruk> "....Who the hell stuck a claymore up his arse?"
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Last occupation I have for her is a factory worker in a textile plant. As for rituals, did you see it at all?"
<Marruk> "No. Someone in the crowd panicked and disturbed it before it could finish."
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Uhh..." flipping through the book, "James Criton, primary suspect of Larry Bridge case. Notable psychological imballances, I've got him listed as the most likely suspect on 19 cases, and confirmed suspect on another 12. Also, that's a shame, do you think they'd try it again?"
<Marruk> "Yes, I plan to see if I can watch the entire thing next time. The knife she was using didn't appear to be an artifact, so I can only assume its something else she's doing. Oh. And she resisted solar magic aimed directly at harming creatures of darkness as well."
<Marruk> "That," Marruk sighed as he ate, "Was also worrying."
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "There's Void Circle that can do that."
<Marruk> "Void Circle?"
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Strongest level of necromancy."
<Marruk> "Interesting. Can ghosts learn that?"
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Old and insane ones can. As can Deathlords."
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "It lasts until sunrise though."
<Marruk> "While Ivy may be insane, I don't believe she is sufficient old. Or a deathlord. Could you come with me to the next meeting, incognito and observe? You may see something I missed."
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "I... I'd like to... but can't. Oh! But my mother can."
<Marruk> "That would work. Why can't you, if you don't mind me asking?"
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "I do mind, I'm sorry." She looks a little evasive.

-*- Marruk paused then stopped and nodded, "Fair enough I suppose." Was this why he was so attracted to the ghost blooded? Shade intrigued him, on most levels. She was intelligent, competent to be sure, but he had difficulty ever getting a real understanding of her. He had to think it was worth the effort though, for her company if nothing else. "Shade, there was -
<Marruk> another reason I wanted to talk to you again. You're an interesting attractive woman, and someone I trust. I was wondering if you might be willing to have dinner with me sometime, where we don't talk about business." Marruk offered. Straightfoward.
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "So... you're inviting a woman you're attracted to, and is employed under you, to dinner, while married to a woman with trust issues who could beat the other woman to a pulp? I hope you don't find it rude for me to decline under such circumstances."
-*- Marruk smiled slightly, "Valks and I have managed to come to an amiable solution there. We care about each other, much, but both of us are busy, and we've agreed that such things are acceptable provide we both approve of the partner. I rather like you, and she trusts you as well. But I understand if you refuse."
<Marruk> "Honestly I expected you to refuse, simply on more gender based grounds, though ironically at least I could do something about that..."
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Honestly, I just avoid married people. It's a headache regardless."
<Marruk> "Come on-" Marruk grinned, teeth bright, smile infectious, his personality magnetic. Married? He remembered at least one exception to that rule the sidereal "I understand if you refuse I won't blame you for it, and I'll still think of you as my friend. But nothing ventured leaves nothing gained, and you might enjoy yourself. You have to be at least curious."

<RobinStamer> (Hold on, looking something up)
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "blushing a bit, you said you could do something about your gender?"
-*- Marruk nodded, and shrugged, his caste mark flared briefly, and in a moment he was molded into someone who looked simple like they could be his sister, a touch shorter, with exotic skin and appreciable, though not to Valks level, curves.
<Marruk> "A little thing I picked up for disguise."
<Marruk> "I still haven't totally gotten used to it, what do you think?"
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "It's cute." She grins.
<Marruk> "I'll take that as a compliment," Marruk laughed. His voice was dark and pleasant in this form, "I tried to take it to avoid being noticed, I can remove the tattoos as well as alter skin color and make a few other small changes here and there. But hell, I think sometimes I get more looks like this then just as me. I swear, I had to take a bath after visiting
<Marruk> the cult."
<Marruk> "Mmm..." Marruk winked, and his voice moved to become a touch more sultry. "I suppose this may have you reconsidering the dinner offer?"
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Sure, later tonight?"
<Marruk> "I'm free. Any place in particular?"
<Marruk> "I was thinking that little dinner. The first place we met, you remember?"
<RobinStamer> <Shade> "Sure."
<Marruk> "Perfect, I've got some work to catch up on, I'll see you then." He looked pleased, this had gone, frankly, better then had right to hope.
