DTR - Number Guesser

DTR Memo Project: Number Guesser

Group Member Names: Amanda Sierra and Samantha Freeman

Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):

  • Learn JavaScript
  • Make it pretty
  • More responsive site
  • Learn to work in a paired environment
  • Further develop our individual skills

We will feel satisfied when all elements are working correctly and we feel that it represents the comp that we've received.

Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):

  • We're both awesome Californians, who are comfortable being honest with each and further developing our team skills.

  • Amanda

    • Supporting others (teammates) = comfortable talking to others and supporting them
    • Comfortable working individually or in a group
  • Samantha

    • Empathy = ability to see in another person's shoes
    • Comfortable working individually or in a group

How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles:

  • Celebrating the little moments and being honest with each other. We both care deeply about further developing our knowledge especially in JavaScript.

Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):

  • Our plan is to work together from 4pm to 7pm at school. Then we will have basically an hour to hour and half of solo time. Where we will work on an individual component or do research on something that confused us during the pairing time.

Communication Expectations (How often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open? How will we make decisions as a team?):

  • We will be connecting in person every day. Plus we will have slack messaging available for when we are apart.

Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):

  • JavaScript, flex box, media querries, and responsiveness are things we want to work on during this project.

Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?):

  • We both want a chance to take a crack at different elements of the JavaScipt, so we will be trying to use Ping Pong pairing.

Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests/Debugging and Problem-solving Techniques):

  • During our partner time we will be communicating back and forth while we take on different pieces of the code. Once we are done with our piece, the other member will review said code. We are going to research how to use GitHub to share our project.

Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:

  • Honesty is key and we will not be able to succeed unless we speak honestly with each other.

Project management tools we will use:

  • Wunderlist to assign deadlines, which we will be discussing daily.

Day 1 Agenda:

  • Create HTML and start CSS
  • Review together to ensure we have semantic HTML
  • Make a plan for what we need to accomplish before the first check in
  • Support each other
