Privacy Policy for Pipedrive Contact Creator Chrome Extension

1. Introduction

This privacy policy explains how the Pipedrive Contact Creator Chrome Extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our browser extension.

2. Data Collection and Use

2.1 User-Selected Data

The Extension collects the following data only when explicitly triggered by user action:

  • Phone numbers (when selected by user)
  • Company names (when manually entered by user)
  • Source URLs (the webpage where a contact is created)

2.2 Configuration Data

The Extension locally stores:

  • Pipedrive API key
  • Origin URL API key (for custom field mapping)

2.3 How We Use Your Data

The collected data is used solely for:

  • Creating contacts in your Pipedrive account
  • Creating companies in your Pipedrive account
  • Linking contacts to their source webpage in Pipedrive

3. Data Storage and Transmission

3.1 Local Storage

  • API keys are stored securely using Chrome's built-in storage sync
  • No data is stored on our servers
  • All configuration data is stored locally in your browser

3.2 Data Transmission

  • Data is only transmitted to Pipedrive's API (https://api.pipedrive.com)
  • All transmissions use secure HTTPS connections
  • No data is sent to any third-party services

4. Data Sharing

4.1 Third-Party Services

The Extension shares data only with:

  • Pipedrive (https://www.pipedrive.com)
    • Shared data includes: phone numbers, company names, and source URLs
    • Data is shared only when creating contacts/companies
    • Data sharing follows your Pipedrive account's privacy settings

4.2 No Additional Sharing

  • We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to other third parties
  • We do not collect or store your data for any purposes beyond immediate transmission to Pipedrive

5. User Control and Access

5.1 User Control

You can:

  • Remove API keys at any time through the extension popup
  • Disable or remove the extension at any time
  • Control what data is selected and submitted

5.2 Data Access

  • All data sent to Pipedrive is accessible through your Pipedrive account
  • No additional data is stored or accessible elsewhere

6. Security

6.1 Data Protection

  • API keys are stored securely using Chrome's storage sync API
  • All network requests use HTTPS encryption
  • The extension operates in split incognito mode for privacy

6.2 Limited Data Collection

  • Data is only collected when explicitly triggered by user action
  • Only minimum necessary data is collected for functionality

7. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by:

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
