Find GMail archived mails and conversations

Try, in order :

0. Quickly click Undo button

...after having archived

1. FINALLY : 2020 solution

  • in:archive
  • in:mute

Difference between in:archive and in:mute
in:archive archived conversation goes back to inbox if someone replies to it
in:mute muted / ignored conversation will stay outside of inbox even if someone replies to it

2. Search-fu

-category:primary -category:social -category:promotions -category:updates -category:forums -in:chat -in:sent -in:draft in:anywhere
  • Is in:inbox == category:primary ?
  • in:anywhere to also search spams and trash folders (excluded by default)
  • has:nouserlabels (optional) : exclude all mails with at least one custom label
  • also check in:snoozed and in:scheduled, probably not here but technically it could

3. Try Hard #0

Go to "All Mails" (in:all) and try hard

4. Try Hard #1

Use the search bar and try hard
