WinXPEmu is a small program that runs RDP via a virtual machine to emulate a virtual Windows XP system inside Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1
Minimum requirements:
- OS: Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 (x64)
- RAM: 2 GB
- CPU: Any processor that supports hardware virtualization
- Disk Storage: At least 5GB of available space on your computer
This emulator will use VirtualBox 5.1.38 to work, don't worry about installing it on your computer, as it is already included in the emulator
Warning!: Before proceeding with the installation of WinXPEmu, if you have already installed VirtualBox on your computer, you must UNINSTALL IT, otherwise the VirtualBox included in the emulator WILL NOT WORK and consequently nothing will work
WinXPEmu does not require installation on the computer but must only be extracted into a folder of your choice
First of all go to the bottom of the page and download the ZIP package from the Google Drive link After downloading the ZIP package, extract it into a folder of your choice
Finally double-click on the "install.exe" executable, which will configure the emulator (It will install all the services and drivers for VirtualBox, import the virtual machine and configure the shared folder)
If all went well you should now be able to run the emulator and enjoy your Virtual Windows XP
Double-click on "WinXPEmu.exe" to run the emulator, when the emulator starts the Windows XP virtual machine will start and the program will wait for the system inside the VM to load, and you should see the Login window
The credentials to log in are:
- Username: Administrator
- Password: WinXP
And so you are in your virtual Windows XP and you can do whatever you want with it (Try old programs that don't work on new Windows, play old games)

There is also a shared folder that you can use in C:\Users\username\Documents\Windows XP Share
To use the VirtualBox included in WinXPEmu, simply enter the "VirtualBox\x64" folder and run "VirtualBox.exe"
And here you can see the VM running Windows XP i.e. that VM using WinXPEmu to emulate Windows XP
Port forwarding for the RDP port is already configured
