Using the REST API to upload a file to WordPress is
quite simple. All you need is to send the file in a
POST
-Request to the wp/v2/media
route.
There are two ways of sending a file. The first method simply sends the file in the body of the request. The following PHP script shows the basic principle:
function downloadString(text, fileType, fileName) {
var blob = new Blob([text], { type: fileType });
var a = document.createElement('a');
a.download = fileName;
a.href = URL.createObjectURL(blob);
a.dataset.downloadurl = [fileType, a.download, a.href].join(':');
a.style.display = "none";
document.body.appendChild(a);
a.click(); |
<?php | |
$file = '/path/to/file.png';
$filename = basename($file);
$upload_file = wp_upload_bits($filename, null, file_get_contents($file));
if (!$upload_file['error']) {
$wp_filetype = wp_check_filetype($filename, null );
$attachment = array( | |
'post_mime_type' => $wp_filetype['type'],
'post_parent' => $parent_post_id, |
