@excat с RT индексами такая штука не прокатит к сожалению, по крайней мере мне так кажется, и раз у Вас не сработало, то наверно дело в этом.
Есть вероятность что в manticoresearch это исправили, - там в RT заработали многие вещи которые не работали в Sphinx, но если нет возможности обновиться, - то это совет в никуда.
