Project Reflection
What is one thing that went unusually well during this project? We all communicated super well and frequently. We were also good about delegating tasks among the three of us.
In hindsight, is there anything you would have done differently? I think we did a fantastic job. Maybe we could have started off using VCRs instead of webmock?
If you were working with this partner again, what is something that you would want to focus on improving as a team To be honest, I can't think of anything. The three of us made a strong team and were able to have fun along the way.

What strengths did your partner bring to the project? Travis, you're super quick with getting things done, it's amazing. You brought in speed along with strong technical skills. You also made our project look cool with your CSS skills. It was a real pleasure to get to work with you. You're a good person overall and it made for a safe environment. This isn't unique to me (it's something a lot of females deal with in tech), but I always worry about having to work with dudes because the majority have made me and other females feel incompetent. You were really good with asking and allowing *** and I our opinions and weren't dismissive. It shouldn't be a rarity in tech, but it is; although, having worked with you, I have hope things will get better. I'm excited to see what cool things you work on in your future.
What is something they could do better? Maybe share the muffins next time
Project Feedback: I want to start off by saying that I admire how respectful you are of other people’s opinions while also being assertive. The way you were inclusive of everyone’s thoughts really made me dwell on many things that I need to work on to become a better coder. I am definitely more introverted like you stated, and sometimes it causes me to step back a bit, especially because working with males can be intimidating for me (something I am working on) so I apologize for not bringing my best self and communicating more. I will work on that! I also think you write great code; you got a great handle on things are you’re able to explain it well. It’s very refreshing and motivating knowing that you are soon going to be out there on the field making true and necessary changes by just being yourself. You’re awesome!

I’m of course always impressed with your coding skills, but more importantly, your willingness to listen to others, hear their ideas, and jump in wherever need be. I think I spoke to this last time, but you display such a good balance of speaking your mind, and always letting others speak. I think that’s unfortunately hard to come by, so that is something that, without a doubt, that will make you stand out, and make whatever company you work for, extremely lucky to have you! I will always encourage you to keep sharing your kindness and sense of humor, no matter where you go. I’m truly so glad that I got to work with you again, RoboTrav. Here’s to crossing our fingers that it happens again soon. Stay rad!
RobooooTrav!! I love working with you. I think that you and I are very similar personalities and it took us a minute to find our groove from futbol but we really hit our stride with this. Something that I’m working on and that I think you might be as well is that we are both pretty confident in our abilities or at least in our ability to figure shit out. I think that we both need to work at how that can manifest in certain things like problem solving with another person, as you mentioned, where we get frustrated. Something that I know I’ve benefited from in my career is thinking that EVERYONE (kids, even adults I didn’t like that I worked with) has something that they can teach me, so they deserve the space and I want to give it to them so that we can both benefit. I knowww that I can come off as arrogant or pushy at times and I have to really check myself on that. Especially when there’s someone as equally confident and equally (or more skilled in your case!). So I apologize if I ever came off as a jerk! Your coding skills are wild for someone this early in the game and your grasp of how to get these damn machines to do what you want them to is awesome. Whereas I tend to think in big picture and readability you can just plain make shit work and that’s so cool. I’d love to collaborate more to see how we can teach each other our process! Also, I just want to shout your overall ability to be an empathetic human. I see you doing great things in our group settings to make space for folks and being ever conscious of that so thank you. You’re the man, or Robot, or Cyborg? Travis. So glad I’m in this program with you.
